After a ten day, nine seminar Creation Evangelism tour of Sri Lanka we find a second opportunity for Christian Worldview Outreach to have a major impact on a country for the gospel of Jesus Christ. With Bulgaria and the ministry of Darin Ivanov of Ruse we have been able to have a nation wide impact on Churches, libraries, the educational system and the public media. This influence is spreading out to surrounding countries as well through the projects and contacts of pastor Ivanov. We have many projects going on around the world introducing the techniques of Creation Evangelism to Christian leaders to strengthen the faith of their congregations and to reach the lost. We pray that these will blossom into national and regional revival. Our Spanish language projects have the potential to reach 20% of the world’s population. Now in Sri Lanka we find a great open door to influence a whole country and through this the surrounding countries of S.E. Asia. Again the opportunity is centered on one man, a strong Christian leader with many connections and talents working with people. Pastor Woody Blok of Columbo, the capital city and home to a majority of the 21 million inhabitants of this beautiful tropical island, has started and raised up an amazing array of ministries including a church with two language groups, a Bible School in two languages, and many other connections with leaders and believers. Sri Lanka is a strong hold of Buddhism, but the doors are open as a few Christians have even been elected to the parliament. There is a significant Catholic population and the Assemblies of God have a few churches, but Pastor Blok’s Overcomers Church is leading a network of strong spirit filled churches, has connections with hundreds of orphanages, and is working with a missionary organization reaching the countries surrounding the Indian Ocean.

Pastor Blok was greatly influenced by his studies under Dennis Lindsay at Christ for the Nations in Dallas, Texas. Although CFNI is a spirit filled organization and has been a great training ground for missionaries for decades, President Dennis Lindsay has also included a program of Young Earth Creation Apologetics in the curriculum. Not all students that attend CFNI catch the vision of the importance of apologetics in the work of the ministry, but Woody Blok clearly has as he has already been teaching this material for a long time as is apparent by the knowledge and interest exhibited by his associate pastors, colleagues, and parishioners. It takes a leader like this to have an impact on a culture, a language group, and a region as his charismatic personality and leadership ability is influencing many other leaders to embrace this important work. Most seminaries and Bible schools around the world deny the truth of the scriptures when they discuss things of the physical world such as the creation and the evidence of the flood in the rock layers. They are ignorant of the huge advances in Biochemical science or cannot make the connection to the great truths about these matters revealed in God’s word thousands of years ago. They compromise with the fallible ideas of men thinking that false science has proven the earth to be millions and billions of years old, evolution between kinds has occurred and some even deny that man was specially created in God’s image. The eventual result of following this greatest of all lies is the down fall of Christian cultures such as in Europe and now the United States and the blocking of millions from accepting the truth of the Gospel leading to salvation in Jesus Christ.
