ENCOURAGING the saints to assert the supreme authority of God's Word. The 66 books of the Bible are the written Word of God. The Bible is divinely inspired and inerrant throughout. It is the supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct. Its authority is not limited to spiritual, religious or redemptive themes, but includes its assertions in fields like history and science. First of all we don’t use science to “prove” the Bible; the Bible itself is the measure of truth. On the other hand we don’t see contradiction between operational science and the Bible and we don’t disregard the achievements and value of operational science. Operational science deals with things now. Theory of evolution teaches about the past basing its claims on presumptions and presuppositions. It is the old dilemma – the Word of God or the word of men; we have a clash of two faith based models. Christians need to realize that and take a bold stand on the Bible. “Facts" don't speak for themselves, but must be interpreted. There are no different "evidences" for evolution and creation. We all are faced with the same evidence (we all live on the same earth, have the same fossils, observe the same animals, etc.). The difference is in how we interpret what we observe. When properly understood, the "evidence" fits the biblical account. |
