The Bulgarian Connection
In our own land there is much resistance to the teaching of the Bible as truth. Evolutionary thinking has captured most of our government and scientific institutions. We can see the destruction in other parts of the world where the end results of evolutionary thinking, such as Communism and Nazism, have lead to great destruction. Here we call the movement secular humanism, but the result is the same. People are kept from knowledge and ultimately a relationship with the true God and creator, Jesus Christ. Society then slides into immorality and lawlessness.
There is a man in Bulgaria that is on fire for the Lord and this ministry. His name is Darin Ivanov. He lives and works in a church in Rousse and pastors a church in Borovo. I have had the privilege of ministering with Pastor Darin in Rousse and Borovo. He has shown me opportunities and tells me of so many more open doors where he can share the gospel through creation evangelism in ways that would be impossible here in the US. He and his ministerial associates are taking the same materials we have here from Answers in Genesis that he has translated into Bulgarian right into the scientific institutions, the universities, the public libraries and the government right up to the president and in the public and private schools. They are hungry for truth. They have seen communism fail in this former Soviet block country and accept the Bible if they can see that it is true. Creation science as developed in the west gives us the evidence we need to counter the evolutionary lie. Darin has more requests for materials and speaking engagements than he can fulfill. He can reach not only Bulgaria, but also surrounding countries including Romania, Moldova, Macedonia, and Turkey. |
